Our Classic SEO Plan: Key Items
On-Page SEO
This is adding keywords to each page of the website and setting up the proper keyword vector, especially with the page content, URL slug, H1, H2, images, Title and Meta Description. We manage this process with the Yoast SEO Plugin. After optimization, your WordPress pages dashboard may look like this:
XML Sitemaps and Google Search Console
We use WordPress to create XML sitemaps which are then submitted to via the Google Search Console. This helps Google index your website and also alerts us to any problems.
Top 11 Citation Building
For each client we take special care to make sure our top 11 link resources are setup. This is called off-site SEO. This task represents several hours of work to setup and optimize each directory in the list. The theory here is that Google sees your listing (and link) in these important sites and in turn ranks your website higher in search.

Local Directory Citation Building
As the year progresses, we spend time submitting client websites to 40-50 more citation websites. These are secondary to the top 11, but they can really help with Google rankings. Some examples of these are Acxiom, Factual, Infogroup, Neustar, Merchantcircle, Hotfrog, Nextdoor and Brownbook.
